North Highland Community Museum and Culture Centre - News

Presentation for September 1st has been postponed due to a passing in the community.

Renovations to the Culture Centre are being done now, please stop by to see the progress!

We have a presention series that is held every Wednesday throughout the summer, one of them being a youth concert where local youth came out and donated their time to the culture centre fund.  Please find below a short video that captures some of the concert.

TRADITIONAL CRAFT WORKSHOPS

During the winter, the following workshops were offered in Rug Hooking, Weaving, Knitting at Cabot High School, and Wood Carving.

SQUARE DANCING

Square dancing workshops began in October, in the the United Church Hall in Cape North, and continued until April.For those who have always wanted to learn how to square dance, this was their latest chance! Dancing took place with live music, and refreshments were provided. All were welcome and beginners were especially welcome. Instruction was provided.

STORY TELLING SOCIALS

Beginning the last Sunday in January, from 2 to 4 pm, and to be held in 5 local communities there were monthly Story Telling Socials. People came with stories, photos or artifacts of days-gone-by. Music and refreshments were served up!
